DUBAI, – Mounted Dubai Police and a Dubai Police band took part in the UAE’s Golden Jubilee celebrations on Saturday, 20 November, as Ride for Life and the Zayed Tolerance Trail launched their first ceremonial parade around the Expo 2020 Dubai site.

The event, attended by Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence and Commissioner General, Expo 2020 Dubai, culminated at Al Forsan Park, with a meet and greet opportunity for visitors.

Inspired by the legacy of the UAE’s Founding Father and one of the nation’s most famous equestrians, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, both Ride for Life and the Zayed Tolerance Trail are organised under the patronage of The Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence, to inspire people with the values of tolerance and coexistence, harmony and learning, culture and heritage, health and well-being.

“Horsemanship is very important for health and wellbeing. Horses are used for hypnotherapy, to help children with autism and people of determination, as well as to teach children to have empathy,” said Tina Al Qubaisi, Founder, Ride for Life. “Horsemanship encourages children to learn, not just horseback riding, but also on the ground. We do a lot of work with people who don’t ride at all.”

With the world coming together at Expo 2020 Dubai, Al Qubaisi believes it is a perfect opportunity to demonstrate the UAE’s values to the world. “We are showing the world that we are only 50 years old, but we are a very advanced country. We are very tolerant, we respect and embrace everybody, no matter what nationality or culture,” she said.

The Zayed Tolerance Trail showcases key landmarks across the UAE, which are associated with the Founding Father’s legacy and the nation’s values. The Expo 2020 Dubai route is the third parade, following one from Manarat Al Sadiyat to the Louvre Abu Dhabi earlier this month, and the first at Umm Al Emarat Park, Abu Dhabi, last month.
