DUBAI, – Her Excellency Jameela Al Muhairi, UAE Minister of State for Public Education, has officially opened the site’s Sustainability Portal, welcoming the first group of students to take part in the Expo School Journeys at the Expo 2020 Dubai site.

Her Excellency Jameela said: “It is my pleasure to officially open the doors of Expo 2020’s Sustainability Portal as the first school students embark on their inspiring school journeys with the Expo School Programme, which offers unmatched learning opportunities. Engaging our youth in meaningful conversations and experiences that are educational, but also fun and inspiring, will have a long-lasting impact and empower students – our leaders of tomorrow – to help create the brighter future we all strive for.”

The students from December The Second School shared their excitement about being part of the programme, which offers every school student in the UAE the chance to experience four incredible school journeys of Expo 2020 Dubai for free. Each journey is a fun, immersive learning experience designed to inspire students of all ages to think critically, communicate effectively and grow intellectually. The four journeys – Legacy of the UAE, World of Opportunities, Sustainable Planet and Universe in Motion – take place across Expo’s three vibrant Thematic Districts (Opportunity, Mobility and Sustainability), as well as through various pavilions celebrating the legacy and future of the UAE. Each journey delivers unique learning opportunities aligned with the UAE’s diverse school curricula.

The Expo Entry Portals, designed by celebrated London-based architect Asif Khan, provide the stunning first touchpoints for millions of visitors to Expo 2020, with one welcoming visitors into each of the three Thematic Districts (Opportunity, Mobility and Sustainability).
